Corporal John STUBBS, RA Peninsula War

Postby StuS » 26 Apr 2012 21:47

I am researching an ancestor, Cpl John Stubbs RA, who was awarded the Peninsula Medal for service with the British Army during the Spanish War (1808-1813) with bars - Salamanca 1812, Vittoria 1813, and Toulouse 1814. He was born about 1789 and died 1844, and married Mary in 1810; apart from that we know nothing of him. I have copies of the Medal Rolls (WO100/4) that list his medal. The medal is held in the Manawatu Museum, Palmerston North, New Zealand where his family subsequently settled.

Any information that members are able to provide will be most appreciated. Thank you…

Hi StuS

Welcome to the forum! The Napoleonic Wars is a little before the period this forum covers I am afraid. However, you are in luck! We have a sister-forum called "The Napoleonic Wars Forum" :D

StuS has now posted this question over on our sister-forum which can be seen here.

I will lock this thread but allow it to remain. If anyone can assist in his request please either PM him or post details over on the Napoleonic Wars Forum.
