Quite simple really, the records for the Victoria Cross are now available on Ancestry. It said new next to them this morning.

Well spotted, saw119! I believe this new database was added to Ancestry's collection on the 27th March 2012 but I must admit I had missed it. Apparently it includes:
•name
•last known rank and unit
•location and description of deed
•birth date
•death date
•place of burial (as applicable)
•description of memorial (as applicable)
All recipients of the VC between 1857 and 2007 are listed along with photos of many of them!
