Well Merry X-Mas to the forum staff and all you good posters. I have had a spirited "Water bottle" discussion and have learned a lot on all the subjects, wether I am interested in the subject or not. I hope my contributions have lent to the learning process as I really do try to find first hand sources and speculate only when I tell everybody that my statement is speculation. I know I have learned a lot!
There are four Forum questions that need adressing and I am working on that:
The question about the Wadi Halfa defences
The question about the Suakin defences'
The questions about The Sudan war railways
And anything about Aden.
I hardly think a list of bibliographic sources answer many of these querys as the books are very expensive and the military records seem to be available only if one goes to England and looks them up personally. I don't think that 5% of the bibliograpic answers are researched due to money limitations and availability to access official record. If I took a trip to England, I would be camped at the building that houses The Royal Engineers papers. But a bibliographic answer is better than none, and it is the start of the trail that can be taken. So the bibliographiuc info is much appreciated.
Keep those queations and answers coming as my first full year here has been a real trip!!!!!!
