Farmersboy

Great news about the museum website. Really looking forward to logging on and seeing what happens. I am sure that it will be even better than the already excellent site. Well done to all involved.

It is good the book has taken off again. I understand from the Boss at the museum that there has been a real increase in sales in the past few days. Excellent say I  Perhaps I should think about a film script now!

May I take this opportunity to wish you and all members of the forum a very Happy Christmas and New Year. 60 this Christmas Day, so I can get my bus pass and free prescriptions

"I feel good about this as it shows that Political Incorrectness is still alive and well in a new generation despite all efforts to the contrary by the educational establishment."

I suspect there may be a few kindred spirits on this forum! The fight goes on...

:)

Oh, and happy forthcoming birthday Richard!

A very big thank you to all who have wished me a Happy Birthday for the 25th.

It is the big 60 this year, free prescriptions and a bus pass at last. Can't wait to stand around for hours waiting for a bus to get my anti-ageing tablets
On second thoughts, I think I will stick with Dr. John Watson's universal cure for all ailments - BRANDY

As far as I can recall, Flashman's only involvement with Afghanistan was during the First Afghan War in 1842 as the "Defender of Piper's Fort" (see "Flashman", the first extract from the Flashman Diaries).

Sadly, with the death of GMF, it looks unlikely that we're to be treated to more extracts. This is a great shame, as I'm sure that there are many more wars for Flashy to try avoid (unsuccessfully) and quite a few more ladies for him to atempt to seduce (probably with more success!).
