George ARMSTRONG, m1867 RA Pensioner, India service?

Postby camionfreres » 27 Jul 2010 12:25

Hi from N.Ireland

Could you assist me in tracing my Gt Grandfather George Armstrong. It is believed in the family he served with the Royal Artillery in India. He was born in County Fermanagh in 1829 and on his marriage certificate dated 25th April 1867 at the age of 38 his rank or profession is entered as Pensioner Royal Artillery. In the 1911 census Ireland he was still alive and his age entered as 84yrs living at 51 Silvergrove Street Belfast.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
