Having looked at the medal roll I believe these are your man's service papers, which can be downloaded for a small fee : http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C9732327.

Based on census records, in 1871 he was a labourer living with his parents James, a mason, and Jane his wife in Bathwick, Somerset. In 1881 he is recorded as being married and serving on HMS Foam, and in 1891 living with his wife Martha in Milton Barracks, Gravesend, now with the rank of L/Corp. In 1901 he has left the Marines and is a general labourer living in Gillingham, Kent.
