Good folks at the Thin Red Line, however, the business is advertised for sale.

I would stay away from Replicators until good feedback starts to show up on this and other places. I won't say anything good about that firm until I either recover $500 or a jacket order which hasn't been completed since the order was placed in Dec '09.

Thank you for your feedback....however do you have any additional sources to contribute to the list above ? Finding Victorian War resources for re-enacting can turn out to be “The Great Game”. It would help immensely if we would share our sources to the rest of the community.

I think you've managed to cover most of the better resources in one post, I haven't managed to find anymore though I'd be more than pleased to hear of others.

I could only add that I'd avoid replicaters, my own personal experience has been the goods are hit and miss and while I've known associates that have had success I'd consider that the exception than the norm given comments here and in other forums.

Warwicks in Melbourne do a nice c1900 pair of Brit riding breeches. I purchased a pair and am happy with them.

Greetings, Dr. John. I used Mark Montgomery in Arizona at http://www.britishmilitaryequipments.com, but come to learn there is also Mr. Bill Donner at Heritage Leather at http://www.heritageleathercw.com, in North Carolina.

Both of these gents supplied me with all of the different leather or buff accoutrement items I needed for my Crimean & Indian Mutiny 93rd impressions.

Both were sticklers for correctness, their items were affordable & both a pleasure to deal with. I would spend my money on their goods again.

Also, there is a Mr. Glendon Hovey up in Canada who does mostly 1812 stuff but can make almost anything, http://www.sewhistoric.bravehost.com, I highly recommend that you contact Glendon if there is an impression item you need that you find and haven't been able to acquired.

Thank you for sharing three more outstanding re-enacting sources along with their web sites. All of them look like some smashing good ones that others can really benefit from. An Indian Mutiny impression sounds most interesting. I do not believe I have ever seen that done before. You must post some pictures for the rest of us to see.

Replicaters are indeed “hit & miss”. I listed them because they have some excellent examples of Victorian War reproductions on their site which very few companies offer. With this, others can get inspired and possibly show their own tailor/dealer to reproduce. With poor reproduction companies & others closing, we must keep on the lookout for other sources and share them amongst this very small community of Victorian War enthusiasts.

Offers the uniforms/clothing that Sutlers sold but no equipment/accoutrements. They will however put you in touch with their original suppliers, such as Tommy Stemson for Slade Wallis equipment.

Military Heritage is making some nice early Victorian uniforms. It appears that they may be expanding to later Victorian uniforms in the future.
