Introduction

Postby Johnny_H » 20 Jan 2010 23:40

Hey all, I chanced upon this site looking for information about the Nova Scotia Militia via google and thought I'd register and say hello! I'm really into the Victorian period of military history and like many probably here it stems from watching the film Zulu at the age of four and collecting W.Britains toy soldiers as a child.

Chances are I'll be more a lurker/responder to topics as my knowledge base is nowhere near many here and I look forward to periodically checking in and reading more on my favored era of military history.

Regards,

Hi Johnny

Warm welcome to the forum, I hope you enjoy your time here with us.

Is the Nova Scotia Militia your main area of interest?

Mark :)

I was actually reading a thread on another forum/board about the status of Canadian Reserve units and the budget cuts that are in store (a Christie Blatchford column) and I was going to throw some numbers out there as to the original strength of the NSM at its peak if I recall correctly its quite a hefty number.

I have it in a few books I've collected over the last few years but was too lazy to go to the shelf and hoped to find similar results on google. Good thing I did because I chanced upon this site.
