Hello

Postby Terry » 31 Dec 2009 09:07

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can give me some information about some of my ancestors. My only problem is 'how on earth do I get photos onto this website!' I've looked at FAQs which mean nothing to me-anybody out there who can explain in 'dimwit' terms as to what I have to do?
Looking forward to getting started!

Hi Terry,

When you go to the reply box, you should see a tabbed form below with "Options" and "Upload Attachment".

Click on "Upload Attachment".

Browse to select the file from your hard drive, click "Open" in that selection dialogue box to choose your desired image.

If desired, enter any descriptive text in the provided box.

Then click "Add a File".

Return to "Upload Attachment" for more attachments.

I am not sure if the forum has file size limitations. If your selected file fails to upload you may need to resize it to a smaller size.

Yes, there is a maximum file size, see Mark's post in the Notice Boards section or follow this link http://www.victorianwars.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=883

Hi Terry

Warm welcome to the forum. If you follow regimentalrogues's guide above and refer to the images sizes in the link provided by Liz you should be ok. If not give me a shout and I'll what I can do for you.

Mark :)

Thanks to everybody trying to help me, hopefully this will work.
I'm trying to identify the single medal/award mounted under the top row. Possibly from the Soudan, it's not a British medal.
The top row are Egypt, Khedives and LS/GC.

Looks like a masonic medal.

Terry

Looks Masonic to me too - or maybe a similar order such as the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes. It might also be a temperance medal or similar.

Sadly it is not an official British medal.
