G'day Folks

Postby pigeonman » 17 Aug 2012 05:33

Brand new to this forum or any forum for that matter.
Hope someone out there will be able to point me in the right direction.
I also hope that the direction will not cost me a small fortune, as it seems that most places want my monthly salary for any info that they may have.

Welcome to the forum, Pigeonman! Well at least we don't charge anyone here on the Victorian Wars Forum, I can't guarantee some of the external research sites won't but we will help you as much as we can free of charge.

Hello Mark, Steve,
I hope this is the right way to respond.
Thanks Mark. Just a shove in the right direction will be fine and anything else is a bonus and certainly more than I had yesterday!!
Thank you also Steve.
My interests re this site would be 74th Foot, 2nd Royal Lanark Militia, and the regiments a great great grandfather may have served in, if he was born in Wolverhampton. In Australia, I am interested in finding out about the battalions my grandparents served with.. the 5th machine gun battalion in WW1, a transport group in WW2
Regards,
Tony,
