Looking for Pay information

Greetings,
I am looking for the amount a Sjt.Mjr. would have been paid in the 1860's while stationed in Canada. Also silly question, being a reenactor, where can I find "reproduction" currency or a something I can do to reproduce such currency? I am only looking for paper currency, as coinage would be impossible for me to reproduce and a bugger to carry @ this time.
