Can anyone confirm for me whether the 54th served in Gibraltar between 1866 to 1871?

Greetings Victorian Dad- the 54th (West Norfolk) Regiment were at Gibraltar between 1854-56.

Between 1866 and 1871 they were in England having returned home after nine years service in India (1857-1866) during and after the Mutiny.

In 1871 after a short respite, the 54th returned to India again for a longer stint (They had already spent eighteen years there in 1822-40), remaining there until 1885 when they returned home via Aden.

Meanwhile, in 1881 they had combined with the 39th (Dorsetshire) Regiment in 1881 to become the 2nd Battalion, the Dorsetshire Regiment.
