Source:# 977 born in Warragul Vic. in 1882 but family shifted to WA in 1898, 5WAMI L/Cpl. 237 and WW1 Sqn. Sgt. Major 10LH AIF then 2nd Lt. RFA & Lieut. (Observer) 91Sqn. RFC in 1918. Returning to Aust. in 1922 he left ship in Cape Town and settled in S. Africa (apparently buying 50% of gold mine in S. Rhodesia) and lived in Johannesburg and Durban for the rest of his life. In 1940 in WW2 he joined S.Af. Airforce, cribbing his age somewhat but was found out before going overseas, promoted Captain in charge of a training base outside Johannesburg for the duration. He died in 1960 and is buried in Northcliff cemetery Johannesburg.
