Thanks for sharing this, and refreshing to see an auction house explaining the somewhat misleading " original " label. It must have been quite the souvenir item to carry back from Khartoum, probably not treated as " carry-on!"

WOW!

GREAT: A 100% original (?!!) Gordon linked broken bamboo (flag?)pole for just £ 1000-1500 , and possibly more! (and with an inaccurate Label , of course!) What a bargain, indeed !

I have just proudly shown this ad to my dear wife : I hope I will now get away in case I could afford to buy my next Enfield Rifle or Webley Revolver sometimes in the future !!

I am really a seriously addicted collector, but it great satisfaction to see there are always more desperate cases to be found!!
